Description
Stories of Black Little Bird is a collection of children’s stories written by the renowned scholar and writer Dr. Tanwir Ahmed. A physician by profession, Dr. Ahmed possesses a wide range of intellectual interests including science, philosophy, literature, and history.
After retiring from his professional obligations, he settled in a secluded retreat near Islamabad called “Kashana-e-Dervaish,” where he devotes his time to reading, reflection, and the dissemination of knowledge, surrounded by his extensive personal library.
He is the author of “Gharach,” a scholarly overview of philosophy and knowledge in both Eastern and Western traditions, and has also translated a book by Marx and Engels. His enduring passion for children’s literature led him to translate Krishan Chander’s “Chiryon Ki Alif Laila” into English, making this classic of Urdu children’s literature accessible to a global audience.
Stories of Black Little Bird reflects the author’s deep understanding of young minds and presents meaningful lessons through simple, imaginative, and engaging storytelling—making it an ideal read for children and young readers.
